CINEMALIVE, CINEWORLD AND DECCA RECORDS ARE THE FIRST IN THE UK TO BUNDLE AN ARTIST’S MUSIC PRODUCT WITH CINEMA TICKETS
CinemaLive, Cineworld and Decca Records are pleased to announce that André Rieu‘s UK Smash Hit 2014 Maastricht Concert will be shown at 68 Cineworld cinemas on 2nd and 3rd November to give his fans across the UK the chance to experience this magnificent concert for a final time on the big screen. Fans will also have the chance to pre-order André’s new album Love in Venice when buying their cinema tickets online. This will be the first time an artist has ‘bundled’ a music product with cinema tickets in the UK.
Hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins, the 10th Anniversary Concert currently holds the UK box office record for the highest grossing music event of all time grossing £858,957 predominantly on the 19th July only, and was filmed in André’s hometown of Maastricht in The Netherlands in July.
The new album, Love in Venice released on 3rd November is a CD/DVD full of new romantic tracks by André where his fans will also be able to enjoy the familiar hits like Volare, O sole mio, Santa Lucia, Azzurro and the wonderful, joyful holiday feeling from ‘la bella Italia’.
CinemaLive’s CEO and Co-Director Peter Skillman said ‘We have had great success for all parties with album and cinema ticket bundling in Australia and I am very pleased to be the first theatrical distributor to launch this concept here in the UK. Not only are we selling cinema tickets and albums, but these sales count towards the album’s chart position, via the Official Charts Company. In both Cineworld and Decca Records, we have two invaluable partners who have been instrumental in the set-up of this offer and we hope that other artists will follow in André’s footsteps, illustrating the fact that cinema can prove a valuable revenue stream."
John Travers Manager of Event Cinema at Cineworld commented "We’re delighted to be working in partnership with CinemaLive and Decca, to offer André Rieu fans the unique opportunity to purchase his new CD/DVD ‘Love in Venice’ at the same time as booking to see his incredible 10th Anniversary Concert from Maastricht on the big screen at Cineworld. We look forward to combining a whole spectrum of events with similar merchandising opportunities, for the benefit of both our customers and commercial partners in the future."
Decca Records’ Senior Marketing Manager Gavin Bayliss said "We are delighted that this year we are working closer than ever before with our friends at CinemaLive and Cineworld. The magic of André Rieu is all about the consumer experience and for the first time a major album release (Love in Venice) and a cinema event have aligned allowing us to provide a ticket bundle offer. With Cineworld sales reporting to the chart we hope for a strong contribution towards the week one chart position, to generate profile for our partners and most importantly provide a good customer experience."
